



EV Electric Vehicle Charging Installation Project

Scope of Services:
Drafting Power Supply Plans: Developing comprehensive plans to ensure efficient power distribution.
Calculating Backup Power Requirements: Assessing and determining necessary backup power solutions.
Coordinating with Utility Providers: Engaging with power companies (CLP/HK Electric) for the evaluation of power supply and equipment specifications.
Facilitating Power Supply Applications: Acting as a liaison for clients in their applications for CLP/HK Electric power supply.
Site Assessment for Installation: Identifying and recommending suitable locations for the installation of charging cabinets.
Installation Services: Executing the installation of independent meters, wiring, and conduit systems.
Issuing Completion Certificates: Providing official completion certificates (WR1) upon project finalization.
Distinctions Between Slow Charging and Fast Charging
AC Charging (commonly referred to as "Slow Charging")
Electricity is supplied to users through alternating current (AC) by power companies. Upon entering the electric vehicle, AC is converted to direct current (DC) for effective charging.
AC charging denotes the process by which electric vehicle charging stations deliver alternating current via charging cables directly to the EV. The vehicle's AC/DC converter transforms the alternating current into direct current to charge the battery. AC charging can achieve a maximum power output of 22 kW, with typical charging durations spanning several hours. Given that these charging stations do not require a converter, they are generally more cost-effective and ideal for locations where longer wait times are expected, such as shopping malls and residential areas.
DC Charging (commonly referred to as "Fast Charging")
Fast charging stations utilize direct current (DC) for charging, enabling currents up to 500 A and power outputs of 500 kW, thereby significantly reducing charging times to approximately ten minutes.
In contrast to AC charging, the conversion from AC to DC is performed within the charging station itself for DC charging. Due to the need for advanced electronic components, the construction costs of DC charging stations are higher, making them primarily suitable for commercial applications.
